Introducing ALCOM’s Personal Carbon Emission Tracker App – Seeds of Wonder (SOW as an ESG Tool)
We are excited to announce the launch of ALCOM’s pioneering Personal Carbon Emission Tracker App – Seeds of Wonder (SOW). This app represents a significant investment by ALCOM as part of our commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. . This first-to-the-world app is fully researched and owned by ALCOM. It is launched to primarily to encourage personal carbon emission tracking, thus, this unique investment by ALCOM carries no commercial returns.
The SOW app is the first of its kind, designed to help users track their personal carbon footprint in various areas such as:
- Petrol usage (with an emphasis on promoting EVs)
- Home electricity consumption
- Flight emissions (both business and economy classes)
- And many other lifestyle choices that impact carbon emissions
But that’s not all – the app also allows users to measure their carbon reduction efforts; including any carbon reducing communal activities undertaken. For example, as part of our initiative, ALCOM has committed to planting 1,000,000 mangrove trees in support of the state of Selangor, a major step towards offsetting carbon emissions.
Our goal is to engage and inspire the public, our colleagues, and friends to reflect on their carbon footprint, participate in meaningful sustainability actions, and improve our collective impact. To make it even more exciting, we may be introducing rewards for the leaders with the lowest personal carbon emissions in our Leaderboard Challenge soon.
This app is not just a tool; it’s a movement towards a greener future – one that we are building for our children and grandchildren. Even as this app yields no business returns, we commit and aspire for continuous enhancement and expansion of its capabilities to further promote a sustainable world.
