Incorporated as Alcan Malaysia Aluminium Company Limited on 18 July 1960, with equity participation by Alcan and Diethlem & Co Ltd of Switzerland

Listed on the then Stock Exchange of Malaysia and Singapore (now known as Bursa Securities) on 23 December 1969 where it remains

Invested MYR120.0m ini Bukit Raja, Klang plant with a capacity of 16,000 tonnes per annum

1992
ANSC, a 50:50 Joint venture between ALCOM and Nippon Light, commenced operations to become the first plant outside of Japan to manufacture precoated fin stock

2005
In January 2005, Novelis was incorporated in Canada (spun off from Alcan) to carry out the businesses formerly operated by Alcan. Thereafter, Novelis remained the immediate holding company of ALCOM

2006
ALCOM acquired the remaining stake in ANSC, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary of ALCOM

2016
ALCOM became a majority owned Malaysian company as Novelis shares were purchased by Towerpack Sdn Bhd

2017
SC Land Holdings Sdn Bhd acquired 29.98% share from Towerpak Sdn Bhd and became the major shareholder of ALCOM.

Our Core Products
ALCOM works closely with our customers as business partners to incorporate aluminium as the lighter and infinitely recyclable material of choice, shaping the future of design in specialties, packaging, electronics and architectural products. Our main products include:
Fin Stock – coated fin stock, bare fin stock.
Specialty Products – tread-plate, flat sheet, coil, stucco embossed sheet/coil, painted sheet/coil, cladding sheet, composite panel, capacitor coil, closure sheet.
Roofing Products – corrugated sheet, roofing sheet.
Foil Products – cable foil, plain foil, diaphragm foil (lacquered)

Our Purpose
Aluminium Company of Malaysia Berhad (ALCOM) is the largest manufacturer of rolled aluminum products in Malaysia and the leading producer in region. It has been recognized as the first plant to have such coated fin stock manufacturing technology.
