Aluminium is a very light metal with a specific weight of 2.7 g/cm3, about a third that of steel. For example, the use of aluminium in vehicles reduces dead-weight and energy consumption while increasing load capacity. Its strength can be adapted to the application required by modifying the composition of its alloys.
Aluminium is 100 percent recyclable with no downgrading of its qualities. The re-melting of aluminium requires little energy: only about 5 percent of the energy required to produce the primary metal initially is needed in the recycling process.
Aluminium is a good reflector of visible light as well as heat, and that together with its low weight, makes it an ideal material for reflectors.
Aluminium is ductile and has a low melting point and density. In a molten condition it can be processed in a number of ways. Its ductility allows products of aluminium to be basically formed close to the end of the product’s design.
Aluminium naturally generates a protective oxide coating and is highly corrosion resistant. Different types of surface treatment such as anodising, painting or lacquering can further improve this property. It is particularly useful for applications where protection and conservation are required.
Due to the highly recyclable properties of aluminium, ALCOM offers an industry-leading buy-back guarantee to all customers, for all our products.
This is a light gauge corrugated Building Sheet that is sold under the brand name Payung® or Umbrella brand. It is available in thicknesses of 0.25mm to 1.0mm in various standard lengths and comes in either 7 corrugations or 11 corrugations of 76mm each.
These corrugated sheets are widely used as livestock shelters, awnings, temporary shelters, for low-cost residential buildings and Roofing Insulation.
7P is a trapezoidal profile available in attractive range of colors and can be supplied in continuous long lengths specified by customers for projects where joints are minimized. This versatility of this profile is due to its strength, water carrying capacity, fixing economy and eave closures features. It is widely used for roofing and can be reversed to provide a bold wall effect.
Suitable for factories and warehouses and in rubber, oil palm, cocoa and rice mills.
This profile was designed specifically to provide a wide spanning capability and a distinctive appearance to provide frequent roof traffic. This profile also has large robust ribs and exceptional water carrying capacity.
It is ideal for large high performance roofs; such as power stations, industrial or commercial buildings and used on walls where a strong visual effect is required.
The wide cover width (914mm) of Alrib, in conjunction with its symmetrical profile, provides a roofing sheet which can be used effectively on walls also. A double capillary drain in the rib overlap ensures weather security. Besides providing a neat and balanced appearance on buildings, this profile is also effectively used as insulation jacketing in power stations and chemical processing plants.
